Elective Courses in 2nd Professional MBBS (Session 2026)

Introduction

This is 3rd year of Elective courses being offered to 2nd year Professional MBBS students. Elective courses provide students with opportunities for self-directed learning in areas of individual preferences and exploration of areas aligned with their academic interests and future career goals. As the core medical curriculum is highly structured, electives offer valuable flexibility and encourage student-centered learning.

These short-duration courses may include topics in research, medical education, community health, laboratory sciences, palliative care, neurology, emergency medicine, and other specialty areas, depending on available institutional resources and faculty expertise.

Assessment of elective courses will be aligned with the intended learning outcomes and may include attendance, logbook completion, project work, presentations, reflective writing, assignments, or objective assessment methods such as MCQs, SAQs, or OSPEs. The assessment strategy for each elective will be determined by the planning committee in consultation with the Assessment Unit.

Rules / Regulations:

· Choosing an elective course is mandatory for all students. Maximum of 9 students can be enrolled in each course on first come first basis.

· The attendance of electives will be counted with Block III.

· Weightage of assessment of this course will be included in internal evaluation.

· Completion of this course will also help those students who wish to apply for financial assistance for their upcoming year.

  Elective courses from 3rd - 13th August 2026

Following students of 2nd MBBS are directed to register in any one of Elective courses. Details of courses can be seen from the Blue links below.
